2016 Scottish Election coverage

May 2016 finds Scotland voting for a new government. Macmillan Cancer Support is asking for the next government to change so it treats the person, not just the illness.

We launched our election calls and had coverage in the Scotsman, Daily Record and Evening Times.234

We even got airtime at radio stations including Clyde 1, Forth 1 and Kingdom FM.5

People took to Facebook to show support for our calls

Whilst others went to twitter to encourage people to email their MSP and ask them to commit to publishing a cancer plan so that no one in Scotland faces cancer alone

And Florencia from Edinburgh spoke in a video about her cancer experience. She highlighted how much a cancer diagnosis can change your life.

A follow up article in The Scotsman emphasised the need to treat the person, not just the illness – a key message in our election call.

We want to thank you for all the support you have given us so far. However, there’s still more to do!206. MCS Scottish election - Susan - Facebook5

Email your election candidates for the Scottish Parliament vote on May 5 and ask them that if they get into power, they’ll make sure every cancer patient is offered a full assessment of all their needs and directed to the right support services.
