260,000 Scots will have cancer by 2020

As part of our 2016 Scottish Parliament Election campaign, we’re highlighting the fact that more people than ever before are surviving cancer in Scotland.

While that’s great news, the bad news is that many people are left with long term problems as a result of the illness or treatment and our outdated cancer care system means they’re not always getting the support they need to recover or cope.

We estimate that in four years time, there will be 260,000 people in Scotland living with cancer and we know many will be coping with the long term impacts that the illness can bring.

How you can help cancer patients in Scotland

Email your election candidates for the Scottish Parliament vote on May 5 and ask them that if they get into power, they’ll make sure every cancer patient is offered a full assessment of all their needs and directed to the right support services.
